Rabat, January 16, 2025 – In a significant move towards legal reform, Morocco has announced the formation of a special commission to revise the Family Code. This announcement was made during a press briefing by Mustapha Baitas, the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament and Government Spokesperson.

The newly formed commission will include representatives from various ministerial departments directly involved in the revision process, as well as the General Secretariat of the Government (SGG). This collaborative effort aims to ensure that the revised Family Code reflects the evolving needs and values of Moroccan society.
Minister Baitas emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, "The revision of the Family Code is a crucial step towards enhancing the legal framework that governs family relations in Morocco. This commission will work diligently to propose amendments that uphold the principles of justice and equality."
The formation of this commission marks a proactive approach by the Moroccan government to address contemporary issues and promote social harmony through legal reforms.
